Antrak Group was founded in 1975 as a transportation company. We have been involved in trucking, stevedoring, ship owning and operating, ship broking and container shipping world-wide. See more about our company history below.

Since 1983, Antrak Group has been a venture capital investor. The investment focus has had a technology bias, with funds focused on development stage businesses. Today, Antrak Group's venture capital business is operated through Antrak Capital.

Antrak Group was formed as Baines Ritchie & Company Ltd.
Commenced West African liner service - BFI Line Limited.

1983

Antrak Venture Capital Ltd was formed to invest in Cable & Finance Ltd. Cable & Finance successful investments included BskyB and Financial Eye.

1989

Cassiopia Investments Ltd was formed initially as a closed end fund to provide finance for the expansion of OT Africa Line (OTAL) and acquire more ships. Cassiopia continued to invest in shipping and offshore oil assets, including United States Lines. Cassiopia was wound down after the sale of US Lines. Cassiopia achieved an IRR of 20% over 18 years.

2001

Founder investors in Copia Capital Partners, a development stage technology fund. Investments included Searchspace, Graphic Data and Sala International.

2007

Antrak Capital LLP formed to develop investment opportunities in development stage technology companies. Investments are held through its Capella Ventures funds. Current information about Antrak Capital and its investments can be found on its website.
